However, decided to "up the stakes" & take on 3 Moderate ai opponents, Japaneese, Romans ( again, thought I'd give them a chance to redeem themselves ) plus Mongols. I think I've made a BIG MISTAKE! 30 mins in & 30 mins to go, I am really 'up against it'. The Mongols are attacking on TWO fronts, plus the Japaneese & the Romans all attacking AT THE SAME TIME on different fronts. Instead of my usual 2 major armies I've had to create 4-5 smaller armies just to plug the gaps. Got the researce on 'Slow & Painful', Classical to Medievil. I've encountered ai Spies for the first time, & boy are they evil. I am in way over my head, & loving every minute of it. I wanted a challenge & I've certainly got it now.
Read a post about staying on the offensive as the best form of defence, & I would normally agree with this, (
& that's my normal policy ), however, as soon as I pump a new unit out to the front lines, he's killed. Cannot create a decent attack force, & my researce is going so painfully slow. Will be much better when I no longer need my Scolars & will conscript them into the front line. Will give me some room on my Pop-Cap to create a decent army to attack (I've already got the Colossus Wonder + Pyramids + Colosseum ). I really don't know where I'd be without the 'Pause' button. Gonna get back to it now, 30 mins remaining, got to keep them away from my Capital...
