  • Good Editor to use for editing files?

    I am currently using XMLSPY5 Enterprise Edition..on a 30 day trial..

I really like this..BUT..its just a shade over $1,000.00 for the regular version..its got bells, whistles and Hula-dancers

I was wondering about any freeware programs out there?

I used Editplus2 for Call To Power...

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    In Advance

    Peace

Cooktop is free; you can get it here

But I got the impression from One_Dead_Villy that you can use Notepad/wordpad to edit the .xml files. (I know at least the rules.xml can be).Its just a tad less clear what does what without the editor.

Yeah, you can edit any of the XML file using a normal text editor such as Notepad or Wordpad. But it's a bit easier if you use an XML editor that understands the XML format. (I don't bother myself.)

There are four XML syntax files available for Editplus2:

I haven't tried any of them yet.
