Heads up for Dutch RoN Fans

Three things Dutch RoN fans may want to be aware of:

(1) You may already know this, but the Dutch release date of Ron is May 23. That was last Friday! So it's out in shops now!

(2) Dutch TV network RTL is having a RoN contest. You can win a complete RoN package (game, shirt, lunchbox, optical mouse) by answering a (very) simple question. Contest closes next week (31-5).

(3) The recommended price ('adviesprijs') for RoN is €49,99. However, most shops seem to charge around €55(!) for it. Fortunately, I've seen it for just €41,50 at the online discount shop GCshop.nl (plus €2 shipping costs; no credit card or anything needed). If anyone has been able to pick it up for even less, please let me know Unless anyone posts a cheaper address, I plan on ordering it from GCshop later this week.

I bought it friday for €49,95 at dynabyte. I wasn't even aware that that was the release date.

Still gonna answer that question though, I can use that optical mouse.

It's HQ is only located in Luxembourg to evade some Dutch regulations on commercials. Other than that, it's 100% Dutch...

I think you're talking about the German RTL, which AFAIK is a completely different company

(The Dutch company has its main studios in both Aalsmeer and Hilversum, if I'm not mistaken)

Actually its different regional versions of the same programming from the same company. They get the rights to the same film etc... and both lots of viewer have to suffer Linda de Mol

On topic a bit more, Saturn stores are selling RoN at 49.99 as listed

Actually, Linda de Mol works for the TROS in the Netherlands, which used to be the biggest competitor of RTL4 (not sure to what extend that is still the case: I rarely watch either)

Though some Googling proved that the Dutch and German companies are indeed affiliated, I can assure you they share very little of their programming. In fact, the rights to many of the series and shows that RTL airs in Germany are owned by RTL's competitors in the Netherlands (Who Wants To Be A Millionair, Smallville, A-team, Power Rangers, Explosief/Explosiv, to name a few examples -- I wouldn't know about movies though). For all intents and purposes, they are seperate companies
