  • I got it working, heres some tips

Hi, I got the retail version and like many of you ive been getting hard lockups, CTD's, BSODs etc. Well, Ive fixed all of those problems for me, CTW included[!] and I figured Id pass off some of these fixes for you all to try as well. Also Im not sure if all of these have been suggested before or not, but it cant hurt to try them

    1. Back up your BHGVidCardConfig.txt and Rise2.ini files.
    2. Find out your video card model
    3. Find the lines in the BHGVidCardConfig file that contain your video card and DELETE those lines completely
    4. Check and see if the above helps you, if not go to 5
    5. Open your Rise2.ini and set the values for these 4 lines to F - it should look like this afterwards-
    SYS_grade_override(A-F or AUTO)=F
    MEM_grade_override(A-F or AUTO)=F
    CPU_grade_override(A-F or AUTO)=F
    GPU_grade_override(A-F or AUTO)=F

Also keep in mind that alot of video cards are based on the same chipsets ie-Radeon 9500/9700/9800 are R3x, so if you have any of those just delete the 9700 line. The same rule goes for the Geforce 4 series as well.

And for Radeon 9500/9700 users, I noticed that downgrading to Cat 3.1 from 3.4 helped alot of stability issues in the game so you may want to try that as well.

Hopefully this will fix many of the problems so Good Luck

Heres my system specs Incase anyones interested:
