  • Double Technology Cost & Time

    I wasn't quite satisfied with the in game settings of "very slow and very expensive technology" and during my 8 player Huge map game the technology still was too cheap and too fast to research and the first two ages were over before I even had a war! So I took a look at the xml files located in the "data" directory and changed the "techrules.xml" file and effectively doubled both the cost and time for all technology including the ages and non-library techs.

    If you're looking for a slower pacedgame, especially in the earlier ages, you might want to check this out. I've attached my edited "techrules.xml" file to this post( which I rared up ). Simply extract it to your "data" directory located in the main game folder and make sure to back up that file before replacing it.

    and this is why RoN rocks...they knew there's no way they can satisfy every gamer, so they made it easily moddable....so those complainers, if they bother to use their brains a little, RoN can be made to play exactly like the way anyone wants to play it.

      Ok, so who's gonna be the first to come up with a modswapper so that we don't have to override the original files?

            Yes it is. Open up the techrules xml and take a look, it's really just a text file.
