    So? That's only about 5 Mbit/s, that's not much. The fastest ADSL provider in my neighbourhood offers up to 8 Mbit/s. And on my uni all students who live on campus have a 300 Mbit/s connection (backbone is currently 2.5 Gbit/s, with plans to upgrade to 10 Gbit/s), which could theoretically download the demo in about 5 seconds. Obviously, the bottleneck there tends to be the server

        I downloaded it in 6 minutes

        I think alva has the same (cable) ISP as me (Telenet); they force us to surf through a proxy server and if a Telenet user recently downloaded a large file it is put in the proxy cache so that every other Telenet user can download it much faster... atleast, that's how I think it works

          You don't have to use a proxy though August, in fact it's better not to.
          I was stupid enough to click cancel by accident when the DL reached 99% though
          Telenet isn't the best one to play on-line (rather slow upload and alot of closed ports (?), but for downloading it is .
          Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
