  • Maintenance and the razing of buildings

    Hullo,

It's me again (the guy posting simple problems as if they were something important... Huh!)
The question is: what makes my viceroy AI dismantle planetary infrastructure because of economy problems? I agree, the maintenance costs exceed taxes collected on that particular world but I still have plenty of AUs in grants?

Cool, yet another "undocumented feature" from the good folks at Quicksilver (Arab meaning)

My best answer would be piss-poor design. At worst, you should sponge off the imperial treasury, with some warning in the SitRep that Planet X doesn't have enough tax revenue to support itself, and is thus taking funds from the treasury. Then you should have the choice to handle it yourself, or let the AI handle it.

As for what criteria it uses, I have no idea, but I can't imagine it would be any less random than what the AI does in building regional improvements.

Well, when the AI builds regional improvements, it is to some extent directed by the dev plans you set up.

But wait, it may bulldoze buildings the same way! I've got a 'brilliant' hypothesis: it tries to leave you with DEA compliant with dev plans. And heck with your micromanagement, huh?

I believe you can only have 2 DEA per region. If you are running low on food than you have some other DEA built in good food growning region it will tear down those DEA and
        replace then with farming DEA.
