  • General retreat?

I happened to me again, I ordered General Retreat and my fleet seemed to ignore the order. Have anybody noticed it?

I admit I have pressed the button more than once, but why should it be a problem?

    I have to ask...

You were controlling the battle, right? If not, then the button doesn't do anything.
If I'd known then what I know now, I'd never have done all the stuff that led me to what I know now...

      Yeah, I was.
The firs time, it happened during a multiplayer game - the battle involved my forces and AI's (it made my brother wait 10 mins for me) the other time was yesterday, my brother gave order to retreat, then he lost all ships but a single colonizer and had to wait. The AI ships had no rockets left, his didn't flee

I've seen that too. I noticed the fleets are sometimes slow to follow any orders. I just repeat until they listen (if it isn't already too late...)

        [Star Fleet Admiral] General Retreat!
[Task Force Commander] Sir, are you sure?
        [Admiral] Retreat now!
[Commander] Sir, we have them on the run...
[Admiral] (Grrrr) I'd like a word with your First Officer.
        [First Officer] Sir!
[Admiral] The Commander is relieved. You are ordered to retreat the task force to the fall back point!
        [First Officer] Yes S... *BOOM*

I've had my ships retreat Towards the enemy before, but not just ignore orders. most annoying either way.

well heres an idea --click and drag your mouse till all ships are in the box, and then just click the regular retreat button.

I've done it both ways. Both are buggy.

In my current single-player game, my carrier class is totally cloaked and ECM-ed. Each has 18 Phaser SC Fighters and like 4 lightning field generator PD's.

They enter the combat, launch the fighters, and then run. It's beautiful.

Sometimes they don't make it out, no matter how many times I hit the button. I call them Calamari Cruisers- Hit-and-run rebels straight out of Star Wars

              Can we get this fixed?

I've also noticed that the task forces are balky when it comes to following ANY order (except possibly movement).
