  • Good war music please!

Doe anybody know of any classical music pieces that would make for good war music? So far I've downloaded Holsts "Mars" and think it works wonderfully. If someone who has heard it before could direct me to some similar music I would be very greatful.

Edit: Oops, I meant to post this in the Galciv forums. I'd delete it but for some reason I can't (Yes, I am logged in.) Would one of the mods be so kind to move it?

The finale from Bruckner's 8th symphony.

The opening to Mahler's 6th symphony.

There's some good fighting music in Prokofiev's music for the film "Alexander Nevsky."

I'm with you. (especially with the Conan music)
Adding our own MP3s would be cool.

Depends on whether I'm on the offensive or the defensive.

              Offensive:
Wagner's "The Valkyrie: Ride of the Valkyries"
              Queen's soundtrack stuff ("Iron Eagle"/"Highlander")

              Defensive:
              Heather Alexander's "March of Cambreadth"

                Retreat:
                "The Curley Shuffle"

                Production Queues:
"Hi Ho! Hi, Ho! Its off to work we go!" (Disney)

                Sitrep:
"I heard it on the grapevine" (Marvin Gaye)

                Turn Button (& between turns):
"I fall to pieces" (Patsy Cline)

                Tech screen:
"Also sprach Zarathusta(?)" (aka 2001 Theme)

                Diplomacy screen:
                "Crazy Train" (Ozzy)

I think I'll stop here for now.
