Is there anyway to get your scout ships to automatically scout?

I mean colony ships automatically colonize, why not the scouts?

Take for instance, you are in the middle of everything, and forget about the scouts, you have other things to worry about.

My rant I guess, for a game I thought would be better than the first 2. Don't get me wrong I like the game and all its little bugz, but they could have done better, IMHO.

Well they could have done it, but exploration is suppose to be one of the fun things to do that you would want to do personally. I agree its easy to lose a scout for a turn or three when you're busy elsewhere, but that seems fair enough to me.
