  • Quick Question

    Hey
    quick question..

manufactor dea requires minerals, does that mineral have to come from the same planet or can it come from other places?? same question for food too... i remember in moo2 where you had to build frieghters... so i dunno

    Thanks!

It can come from other planets, so yeah you could make an industry world if you wanted to. Might be less efficent though, can't remember how it works out. And you have freighters automatically, no need to build them.

As far as I can tell, excess minerals are treated identically to excess food. One planet's surplus is another's salvation.

[edit] - actually, I read somewhere (either on IGMOO, here, or in the game's documentaahhhhhaahahahaha, no, one of the two fora) that the invisible freighter fleet may have a slight delay in picking up the slack. Actually... now that I think about it, this may have been in one of the Master's Notes I sped through on my first game. Maybe I should go back and read them now that I'm familiar enough with the game for them to mean something.[/edit]

The only problem with planets not being selfsufficent is that i they get blockaded.
It appears that a blockade is instituted even when you are not at war.

Unless you have an NA with them. Minerals can come from all over. I had a game I started out as a mining freak then had a surplus of 4k later in the game. I only build industry deas now and those planets can produce far faaster than my older and more established colonies.
