How can I find out what the Magnate races are? I thought I had seen a list of them somewhere but I can't find it. I've assimilated a race of Alluviehs (sp) and I'd like to see what kind of kung fu they bring to the empire. If Rantz sees this, we need this kind of info in the Galactic Encyclopedia.

The list and their stats is in the Readme file on your computer.

Thanks, GhengisFarb. Darklighter pointed me to it in another thread and I was just on my way over to post it here. I figured the readme was a hunk of crap like the manual and didn't check it out.

          Magnate civs rock.

The most populous race in my current game are the Darlocks.

Fotunately for me, they are my vassal civ.

In the game I'm currently playing, I started the game with a Darlok AND an Elerian magnate civ in my home system

Needless to say, I made systemcolony ships a priority in the early game.

And yes, the descriptions are in the readme file. It's worth your while to just print out that section of the readme so you don't have to remember the advantages of each magnate civ.

I checked the readme when I got home and searched it for 'magnate'. The only info that pulled up was how to colonize that type of planet. I'll have to skim through it again.

I would recommend downloading the encyclopedia improvements, there is more info about them in there, and its in game.

                  Harry,

It's near the back of the readme file. ~ page 11?

Also...don't forget that if you're playing as the Ithkul, Magnate Civs are not that great. Why?? Because the Ithkul eat anybody they live with.
