I just succeeded in changing my research values. To test my theory, I modify a value to hopfully decrease the movement through levels by a factor of 5. I succeeded, it will take 50 turns to research my phaser rifle, and another 25 turns due to HFoG. Oops
So far I have ONLY been attacked on worlds that had no planetary defense, (i.e. Beam, Missile, Fighter.)otherwise I am in blockade city. (I have not been building orbitals, but do have some system ships.) I have now won 4 straight games (sole survivor on all) 1 on easy, 1 on hard, 2 on impossible.
