Colonizing New Planets

Hi!

This game is not as intuitive as the last two MOO games, so I'm having a really hard time getting started. Any advice would be welcome. I do have specific questions tho:

1) When one colonizes a planet, do you have to transport some population there from the home world like we did in MOO2? All my new colonies are really small.

2) Is there a tutorial for this game somewhere?

1) go into the system of the planet you want to colonize. hit the forces view from the bottom, select the planet, and hit colonize. This will make it so that if you build a colony ship, it will automatically go to there.

alternatively you can build a colony ship, make a colony force, and send it to the system manually. The AI should be making colony ships (among other things) automatically.

you can also go to your planets screen, find the planet you want to colonize, tab over to the orders, and press colonize.

if you want to move pop points to a planet once its colonized, go to this same place, but press migrate instead.

All of those work and you can send as many colony ships as you want up to the point the it get 1000 pop and then it will have 1 point and can not recieve more colony ships.
