  • Silly Rumour?

I heard a rumour that the reason we are having so many problems is that we received early beta copies of MOO3. How else to explain problems that a beta tester with a seeing eye dog could find especially after many months of delays to squeeze out every minor bug?
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is not a vice." -- Barry Goldwater, 1964 GOP Nomination acceptance speech (not George W. Bush 40 years later...)

They weren't fixing the minor bugs, they were fixing the MP crash bugs. It took them that long to fix the crash bugs. Some of the beta testers even said that some of the bugs that people are posting in the IG forums where known and told to the devs. The devs chose not to fix those.

OMG...it makes me want to puke to read all these post with conspiracy theories. Reading what you guys write makes me wonder why Rantz, Chantz and Bill Fisher didn't just ship empty CD's. That would have been a far easier way to piss you guys off.

For the record: MoO3 is a great game. And no: QS did not!! kill JFK.

I gotta say that regardless of the quailty of the game, that to post such a foolish statement is not going to reflect well on the poster.

JFK is not their line of business, but it looks like they killed Moo.

No, I think they merely renovated it in a way that a lot of people don't paticuarly care for. For me, different bits of it are hit and miss. However, as I am now having a great deal of difficulty seeing star lanes due to the lack of a gamma setting, I'm not bothering to play much.

Not sure if you are referring to me or not but I am beginning to regret starting this thread. It's not like me...

This release disaster has convinced me yet again that games aren't worth buying until they are in the bargain bin and a couple years old.
Most bugs should be done with by then and the ones remaining are mostly known.
I mean, in moo1 and moo2 if I had bad luck (like starting next to the silicoids) I lost pretty early in the game, not so in moo3. Tried every difficulty, 4 different races, expanding like mad, doing nothing.
I always won. And I didn't even bother with the manual.
I like playing my old moo2 save games from the first couple a weeks I had that game again. You know those save games where I quit because "I lost".
It's fun trying to turn those games around.
Not so with moo3 because yu can't lose. What sort of game is that????

Ah needed to rant a bit. Hopefully some kind of patch will fix that soon. Very soon. Game goes back to vendor otherwise.
