  • Help with counter-espionage please?

    Maybe its the fact that the Humans have a low oppressemeter rating and thus make it easier for spies but seriously, 2 or 3 things get blown up in my empire every turn and any leader who joins up with me is basically jumping off a bridge since they get assasinated within 2 turns.

    I am building spies as fast as they will let me and I catch and kill enemy spies regularly but it still keeps happening.

    Anything I can do about this?

    Just wait till enemy spies throw all your planets into revolution. One turn all 18 of mine are happy, next turn they are all revolting.

    That's with like 5000 AU going towards fixing unrest.

      The only way to deal with it is to crank up the O-meter and build spies that specialize in the area you are getting hammered in. Of course, cranking the O-meter will raise unrest fast.
      If none of that helps you can try diplomacy. If that fails, then a really big fleet can be an effective cure.

          Well, I finnally found a couple hours to play moo3, and I'm up to turn 83 with my klackons empire.

          There's a number of things that have left me scratching my head, but one especially is all the conflicting spy reports. My spy will say he is doing one thing, and then he'll say he's doing something else (and the two don't go together) at the same time.

          I've also had spies say they were caught, then say they inserted succesfully, and then die in the interrogation room.

          Definetly some bugs here, other than my klackons
          By working faithfully eight hours a day, you may get to be a boss and work twelve hours a day.

            If you're playing as Humans, then forget trying to protect against spies. All you can do is minimise the damage. I'm constantly building defensive spies in every catagory, and keeping the opressometer in the "middle". I get about one thing blown up every 2-3 turns. I can live with that. I have so many defensive spies that I get one retiring nearly every turn, it seems.

            Oh, and try the "oppressometer flush" tactic. Stick it on 9 for 2-3 turns then back down again. You should kill all the current spies, and buy some breathing space.

            With Humans you'll always have a problem. No oppression tolerance. Low loyalty. Representative Govs. You're stuck with being spied on, unless you can KILL THEM ALL !
