  • refresh problem

I am connected via cable modem to the internet and whenever I get a popup which I have to kill, when I click back on the game the screen in black and I have to kill the application and reload.

Disconnecting from the internet is a temporary solution since I intend to play MP once I figure out the interface.

IT took me 10 mins to figure out how to modify the build queue (need to hit the maximize button in the planet screen on the bottom right interface...)

Wish from the planet view you had a pulldown menu similar to civ3... thought that worked ALOT better.

other than that, I'm enjoying the game although I'm pissed that my so called allies still screw me over with spies (should be a no-spy diplomatic option)

does anyone else have a problem with trying to jump to the galaxy screen/doubleclick on planet in the planet menu? sometimes it seems like it gets "stuck" a bit and you have to go to another menu and then back to get it to work....

I have the same problem, I just unplug my modem instead of getting a pop-up blocker

Does anyone know if there is "trick" to getting it to refresh the screen? I'm no computer guru.

Anyone else think that the planet/military queue maximize button is too close to another button so that you sometimes open that instead. Minor interface gripe...

hijacking my own thread but I need someone to tell me how to fix my refresh prob.

Did you try F5? Or, if you want to eliminate popups, go to analogx.com and download Pow!. It takes some setting up but it'll bust those pesky popups in a hurry.

The WinXP pop-up problem can be fixed from within Windows. I don't remember the exact instructions, but you should be able to find them on www.annoyances.org. Turning on WinXP's firewall seems to work against them, too.

Popups are prolly being caused by spyware, try getting Lavasofts Ad-Aware program to clean your computer perfectly.

It'll fix reg, files, and folders and eliminate all spyware.

Hopefully that'll get rid of all your pop-up problems.

I do run ad-aware but some popups are hidden in the registry that it doesn't seem to catch.

Think it was related to Xupiter since somehow without my approval that website made itself my default webpage.

IMHO the inventer of the popup should be publically tortured on TV for us all to watch. Ruined the internet for all of us for a few bucks... no ethics whatsoever!
