Trade Agreement - Intelligence?

I see this in the game but I don't think it's mentioned in the manual - anyone?

Umm haven't read the manual.but I got offered one by a well armed tachidi empire while i was already engaged with the cynoid over a choke point planet, so i accepted.
Basically it is a map share as far as i can tell, there may be some spying bonus as well, though i can't tell, my spies kick ass much ass now as they did before.

Finally I also got such a deal and as you said, it may be just a map share.

Sounds about right. I think it MIGHT provide some bonuses to defense against foreign spies (I pray it does), but it otherwise only seems to allow you to see where your compatriot in the treaty is able to see. That can be useful sometimes, but is not a major boon for you (especially if I'm wrong about the espionage defense).
