  • WinXP/Lan Trouble

I am trying to play a game over a fake LAN (VPN actually). It seems to work fine, but maybe 30 turns in, the game quits on me. Every time we load the save, then I hit Turn, the game quits to desktop lightening fast, after a bit of communique.

Are there any hints on this?

Just in case it was somehow DX, I disabled acceleration. Just in case it was somehow compatibility mode, I switched to 95, and later 98. No fixy. Now I am trying copying CD contents to the HD, just for the hell of it.

    Any other suggestions?

Well this won't help you solve your problem, but if you can please help me solve main. You said you used Fake LAN to play this game, and I am trying to find out for a couple of months to find find out how to set up a fake LAN. And all I found out so far is that you use VPN to do so. I also tryed to set up a VPN connection using a dial-up modem, but it isn't easy when you know so little of VPN.
So please if you can tell me how to set up a fake LAN connection using dail-up modems?????

Have you played the game in Hot-seat? Does it get passed turn 30?
