Sounds good. Do you see your soldiers moving and shooting or is it purely abstract? Can you move them around on a map and attack from the flank or from the back?

And speaking of flanks, do they work in space, or is space combat more like a Star Wars battle with the capital ships mostly static and only the fighters moving (I've been wondering that ever since I saw a screenshot with two huge fleets and lots of fighters zipping between them.)

Ah, I'm probably asking too many questions, but I like battles more than civil duties. I'm probably in the minority there.

There's another issue I'd like to see covered, which is: Are there still any special weapons like black hole generator and ion stream projector, and can the ai be trusted with these?

No, there are no special weapons like that any more.

It's not 'virtually' impossible to get all the techs through research, it's 'totally' impossible - the techs you get to research are randomly chosen from the beginning of the game, and you will not get 100% of them. You'll have to steal or trade for 'em.

It's a very clear review with excellent presentation of the important points about the game. Nicely written, good selection of SS, well organized and easy to read.
Other than these gripes yours was the best review so far. The interview rocked. I am SO looking forward to Master of Magic 2.

I'd like to echo the thanks about keeping the Ithkul partially secret. I've just dived out of the speculation thread because someone was posting that they could confirm some of the speculation as true. I like discussing what they might be, I don't want to know what they are.

nice review. They're surely gonna make a couple of patches, but as for a hypothetical expansion, I hope so like everyone else. However, in order to see that MoO3 should become an incredible success story ( $$$ )- much more than existent classic landmarks like its prequel.

                Great review, Jonah Falcon

A number of very interesting things to note, including the stuff that's less than optimal (but what game is ever perfect? ).

Nice work. This makes up for you taunting all of us last week that you already have the game

I actually really liked the articles, and the interview... I can't put my finger on it, but it seems to have been the most in depth, yet new user friendly article I've seen so far.

Its the article that I have had my gf read to get her a little closer to understanding the whole deal. (Heck it was kinda the game breaker that got her to say she'd play.)

My compliments. And I sincerely apologize for the dinks who really have no tact at all. (Screaming to their mommies about Harvester info, geez I mean you have been awesome to us here--- least we could do is at least express ourselves like adults.)

I just tried to let Jonah before IGMoo found out (but I failed...), b/c Gamespot caught some Hell from Rantz about it when they did it.

ANd if people see it in a review, they think they can talk about it, and that gets people banned at IGMoo.

Nice review Jonah, I enjoyed reading it. The interview afterwards was amazing, I was very, very pleased to see the possibilities of expansions as well as patches. And the MOM and COTNW comments were also heart-warming as I enjoyed both of those games a lot and would love to see them re-done.

Nice one Jonah ! I wish I had your job.

Let me see... you get the game before any of us, and get to tell everyone how good it is... and you get paid for this. That's so unfair ! You realise that you've raised my anticipation quotient by 103%, you swine !

You forgot to add that he gets to intentionally taunt us in online chats on the #Apolyton channel that he already has the game when it arrives in the mail

He's made up for taunting us by writing a good review... otherwise we might have tarred and feathered him for acts of cruel and unusual punishment to us MoO3-deprived fans

Seriously now, a VERY nice review.

Gamespots article was a preview, and thus QS could control what was written to some degree.

A review should require no authorization whatsoever from the developer, and therefore anything goes. When developers start controlling the content of reviews, I'll stop reading them.
