Furthermore, she wasn't exactly the most successful - I haven't seen one new British colony, and part of the the British empire gained autonomy during her tenure.

The thing I am really learning how to do is manage taxation; military spending is VERY KEY in this game. If you expand too quickly, you'll divert too many build points from defense into colony ships, etc.
This is the first truly OPERATIC game I've played in a loooooooong while. It's more like Master of Orion 1 crossed with Europa Universalis.Comment
