    If these things are not in the game maybe they should be.
    1. Is there any provision in the game for a part of your empire to break off and form a seperate empire either through internal or external factors?

    EX: The American Civil War, Break up of the British Empire, Africa throwing or in the attempt to throw out the European Imperialists


    2. Is there away to send some type of cloaked ship to monitor an opponents star system. undetected?

    EX: american spy planes and sats

    3. Is there an option for privateer ships to disrupt shipping and commerce without being tied to a player?

    EX: Sir Francis Drake

    4. If you lose a planet to your enemy and your allie recovers it, if he is really your ally should'nt the planet go back to you? Maybe not arbitrarily, but why not have it as an option to agree on in the defense or alliance treaty.

    EX: France WWII, Kuwait

    5. Is there an option to have every player in the game to be the same i.e. all player be opposing cynoids?

    EX: Planet Earth in the SOL system.

    I think most of these things are in apart from the last one. I think you can't choose the exact mix, so although 16 cynoid empires is a possiblity, it is a very distant one. Pirates sound like they'll be a real pain in the ass, according to what I've heard.

      Yes.

      I don't think so.

      Firstly, everyone knew who drake was working for, but it didn't matter. But since you can attack people without a state of war existing, the naswer is sort of yes. However, there are no anonymous privateers.

      This isn't in the game that I know of, but I tottally agree. When the allies liberated france, we didn't divide it up in pieces.

      Unfortunately race distribution is random. But I think that its possible you could havea game with 16 cynoid empires, just unlikely.
      By working faithfully eight hours a day, you may get to be a boss and work twelve hours a day.

        in order to achieve a feature like the liberation of france you need the concept of Occupied terroitory instead of most other systems where after you take a city it is instantly yours.

        As many problems as I have with the EU/HoI system, the occupied territory system is something that quickly needs to spread to every other strat game, and needs to be exanded.

        With the idea of occupied territory you can add a lot of really interesting diplomatic options, and new options for game play. There is really a huge amount that the concept of occupied territory, and national territory can add to strategy games across the board.

          Yes! and if you are good, you will avoid having it happen to you! (It occurs due t olarge unrest)

          You CAN give planets to each other, or trade planets for stuff. I doubt even an AI ally would give it to you, but there is a good chance they would trade it to you for something...gotta pay them for their troubles.

          No....but duplicate race-empires exist...i.e there could be 2 sakkra, or 3 evon, or whatever. But it is highly improbable that all will be the same, and no way to specify for it to happen.

          But anyway, that takes a lot of the fun out of it!

            They should let you choose who you want to play against. If they do patch the game for something other than just crashes and bugs, which I think is unlikely to happen given IG's record, then that would probably be one of the first things they would add in. Although you never could choose in the past, so maybe not.

              1. I like how in the earlier civ games you could have a revolt and lose a good portion of your cities if for instance you lost your capital. Maybe things like religious/ideological/political differences could cause a split. I also like the idea of two human empires competing for the same real estate. If we were to colonize the solar system we would have nations/corporations competing for the most valuable pieces of rock assuming that we find some.

              2. It seems like a lot of us would like privateers they were in civ games so it can't be hard to put them in.

              3. To expand a little on the idea of giving planets back to rightful rulers. Giving planets as a gift or conceding to a demand is different from taking a planet back on behalf of an ally. The Orion Senate is a good idea. What if the senate could be petitioned to do peacekeeping. For instance, the humans are persecuting so sakkra under there control. Would'nt it be a good idea to have the ability to have someone lobby the Senate authorize a peacekeeping mission that liberated the sakkra and established an empire. Is'nt that a way that countries are established is'nt that how politics work now? If this feature exists in EU/HOI then MOO3 should have it if it's worth having? I think it is. The pay off in giving the planet back should be increase/decrease in diplomatic relation with another empire. If you are my ally the why is my former capital under your control.

              4. If the ships are cloaked and you go to a battle screen then the opposing player will probably see you as an attacker. I am saying have a some type of stealth ship/sat or combo that is totally undetected and used for surveillance.

              Almost all of this is being done in reality so it should be able to be done in the game. Whose coming with me?

                I definetely agree that features in EU should have been strongly considered for MOO3. I think if you take an ally's planet back, it should revert to them. EU doesn't quite implement this properly, but MOO3 could have taken that step. I do think that the poster earlier was correct that it would coding in the whole concept of occupied v. annexed territory. I doubt we will see this kind of change from QS or IG. Heck, we're lucky to be getting the game.

                  1. The Battletech universe is only humans except for one novel and it's very interesting and there is civil war due to an heir to the throne conflict

                    I don't know how EU does it, but I'd like to see a system where captured planets are considered occupied until a peace treaty is ratified, and perhaps in moo3, recognized by the senate. Give the senate something else to do.

                      Well, the might be able to get up to 8 empires of the same race is he plays MP. Or he could start a MP game, pick 8 the same and play that game SP.

                        This is almost exactly how EU does it. When you take a province, it is considered occupied, then you can try to sign a peace agreement that determines which occupied provinces become annexed. The game awards a % representing your level of victory and that is supposed to determined whether the computer accepts your treaty or not. It sounds better than it actually is, but EU is certainly on the right track. If MOO implemented the EU system, added the ability to turn occupied territory over to allies/original owners, and made the % score actually work the way it is intended, it could only have made the game that much more enjoyable.

                          Hi there,

                          Birth of the Federation did that. when you invaded/assaulted an occupied planet you had the option of conquering it for yourself, or liberating the natives... and this fed into diplomatic relations i.e. if you liberated an ally's world, he'd appreciate... but if you just conquered it, he wouldn't be happy.

                            Hmmm. What I don't think moo3 has is the resurgence of governments and cultures. Medieval Total War has this. Even after you destroy a faction, it has a probability to reapear with an army of loyaltists in an attempt to retake its empire.

                            It'd be nice if newly conquered planets in moo3 which revolt might have a chance to bring back their old empire. Maybe in an expansion. . . .

                              Emphasis added. All strategy game developers take note - this should be the norm, not the exception. It's ridiculous that in Civ3 I can "liberate" a city that was previously my ally's, but I get to keep it with no diplomatic consequences whatsoever. Score one for the warmongers.

                              Be nice if MOO3 somehow modelled the ramifications of liberating allied planets and keeping them. What if the allies in WWII had liberated France, only to divide it amongst themselves and leave the French with next to nothing?
