They are tentacle/feelers, similar to butterfly or fly tongues.

If his vacation was like my last one, I can sum it up for him.

*GREAT*, while he was there, especially after the first day or so.

Then, the process of traveling back and getting back onto a work time schedule pretty much killed whatever feelings of relaxation you built up over the break.

But hey, maybe that's just me. :-/

The first four days of my vacation were spent with automotive problems. That pretty much set the tenor and tone for the 'break'.

Still, it was nice to get to play with the kids and get away. The wife and I saw Tori's show in LaJolla, CA the last day with some folks from QSI, so that was fun. Getting to do something with no kids.

Wow... my thread got replies from Xentax and Rantz!

Thanks for the replies. Wish your vacation had gone better, Rantz.

The reason I asked this question in the first place is (if they were tentacles), why tentacles? Don't insects, as a rule, lack tentacles?

To me it looks like two different species in the picture: the Tachidi in the middle, with the other species wearing environment suits with purple helmets. I would say the tentacle/feelers don't belong to the Tachidi
