  • Are those tentacles?!

I was just looking through the diplomacy screenshots yesterday, and I came to the Tachidi. Before, I had only seen the 3d render of it without any textures. I take a look at the fully textured screen, and I notice that their arms look an awful lot like tentacles. Am I looking at them wrong? Is there some actual insect in nature with tentacles? Or is this actually a *bug with tentacles*?

They look like pincers to me. These have a simitry of curvature from the left one to the right that you probably wouldn't see with tentacles. Also note what appears to be a joint at the base of each apendage, again, something you probably wouldn't wee with tentacles.

Of course this is just sci-fi art, not entomology, so I guess the picture is of what ever the veiwer wants to see.

And you are all definitely spamming, gentlemen.

Kinda hard to tell without seeing the animation (rather than just a still).

Though, I have to admit that I don't know -- it's been awhile since I talked to a Tachidi empire in-game to see the animation. If I remember, I'll answer "For sure" tomorrow.

Well, the little circles (suckers?) covering them certainly look like something you'd see on a tentacle. I didn't create the topic just to pass the time.

                              Thanks, Xentax.
