  • Guess what I saw at EB today

I saw Master of Orion 3 hint book today at eb for 27.99 canadian. I was about to buy it but was thinking of that or the game Hearts of Iron. I am doing research on Hearts of Iron to see if it is worth getting.

I might get it tomorrow since it is to tempting, and it will be like a manual and I should be more ready to play the game when it comes out. It looks awsome and I can't wait for the game to come out.

For those of you who want to know I was told the game will come out on Dec 27.

By the way, just to confirm what Yolky said, the computer at my Toronto-area EB did say December 27 for MOO3 when I was there this evening. I can only imagine the hue and cry that will erupt when the web site catches up with this date.

Would have gotten the strat but I am not allowed to go out yet. Maybe I will have my girlfriend get it, but I wanted to make the trip myself.

Should you come across the MoO3 strategy guide being sold in your area, please the Apolyton news department know and include a) your geographical location, b) the store(s) name(s), and c) the guide`s price(s). - DanQ

          I'm curious...
So what is Apolyton doing/ looking for with this request?

it's a secret operation to get people to tell us their location. along with the email address, using borrowed-from-FBI techonology, we can find out the name of the person. we then sell that who-is-interested-in-moo3 very-targetted customer info to Infogrames' marketing department

I'll warn you right now that it's not really a good substitute for the manual. Also, my impression is that it's lightweight in the discussion of actual strategy. However, it does contain a lot of juicy stuff about the game that most of us haven't seen before. I consider it a 238-page preview. If you compare the content/price ratio of the book with your typical magazine preview, it's actually a pretty good deal.

The downside is, after skimming parts of the guide here and there, I find myself hoping and praying that QS/IG can get the game out before Christmas. It looks great!

Mark- you made a joke, but didnt answer the question.
Why does Apolyton want this info? Were you serious- Marketing? Or is there another "legal" reason involved?
My question to be frank, is someone upset about the release of the strat guide, before the game, to the point of legal action?

Well at least anyone who buys the guide cannot be blamed if there is a legal reason, its the retailers. I had a look around today but maybe it aint reached England yet, which is more than likely And hey, even if they are withdrawn for any reason and you have to send it back, maybe they will give u a free copy of the game as compensation for messing with you

                        Ship Dates??!

ebgames website is listing ship date of 17 Dec.

amazon is listing ship date of 2 Dec.

                        quicksilver still listing 4 Dec.

                        bestbuy has 28 Nov.

                        and compusa has 6 Dec.

I'm hoping Amazon is correct 'cause I've been on preoder with them since 30 Jan, 2002.

The Moo2 guide did not have any useful strat either and I would not expect much in M003 either, but I like to have them anyway. Moo1 guide was really very useful with lots of detail on how the game worked, thanks Alan. I broke down and sent her out to find it. No way to I want to go to the malls until after the holidays.
