Are these 'Poly exclusives, Markos? Nice work!

Seems they're not ripping out their graphics work anyway. That's good.
"The number of political murders was a little under one million (800,000 - 900,000)." - chegitz guevara on the history of the USSR.
"I think the real figures probably are about a million or less." - David Irving on the number of Holocaust victims.

They've polished the graphics and interface. Good news, but cross your fingers for the rest ( namely the AI ) which we can't barely have an idea before the release.

It seems that, except for the first one, these screenshots are nothing new.

One has a "Religion" rating. (gone a long time ago).
They have "IFPs" counters at the top (IFPs are gone since last month).
They have buttons on the sides of the screen (removed last month too).

Your credibility is at stakes, Folks!! I hope you'll show more recent stuff to the guys at E3!

You are correct in that. I don't know where those shot originated from, but all the new promo stuff that we're sending out can be noted in a very easy way. The Side Bar Buttons are not there. If the shot has the sidebars, then it's not current.

And yes, we're showing more current stuff at E3.

                    Ah, Rantz!!
These guys at Infogrames...really sabotaging the PR these days!
First the Kangamoo (the so-called 'demo'), then obsolete screenshots.....
Don't let them touch the Game itself!!

Yeah, though people here seem to be a little pessimistic perhaps (like me ).

I'm sure that'll change as soon as some nitwit spreads the word about your appearance here back on Delphi.

Even though the graphics are somewhat outdated they are polished and do seemingly portray what players will be looking at in-game in a clean fashion. And yeah, it isn't the purdy pictures in this game that matters, it is the gameplay. At least they are not giving out leader pictures and gloating on great graphics while failing to mention anything about the game itself really, a la Civilization III.

You are totally correct Lodi. While I can't personally say I'm enthused by the looks of the game, who cares as long as it's a good game? It's not like some of my long-standing favorites, MOM or MOO, have better graphics...

And you have to give QS credit for posting real shots, not corny FMVs or fluff like leader anims.

Indeed. The focus on fancy graphics should really focus on games where they have an integral impact, such as a first person shooter. Doom III is not only catching quite a few interested glances on it by being the reincarnation of everyone's favorite shareware epic, but by pushing to new limits on graphics. ID Software is expected to create new benchmarks in the genre and computer gaming by focusing on graphics that may ultimately melt 64 MB video cards.

I just found it irrelevant when reviewers pick up strategy games such as Civ III or Imperialism II and make points on how they have dated graphics. Sure they are dated, but the true content of the game is the gameplay for these types of games, usually. Graphics in these type of games are to relay the relevant information to the players. But I guess this somewhat points out there are not enough strategy game enthusiasts represented amongst game reviewers. Which is fine really. But if they have a bias againt 'slower' and 'uglier' games they should be upfront and not present what they feel as an ultimate truth.
