It's their way to show off. Anybody having been here so long has no life anyway and deserves to get what little compensation that brings their doubtlessly fragile egos.
"The number of political murders was a little under one million (800,000 - 900,000)." - chegitz guevara on the history of the USSR.
"I think the real figures probably are about a million or less." - David Irving on the number of Holocaust victims.

There, there. No need to act jealous, Eurocom.

RPM, if you mean my age, 1-27-46.

I m no expert on the net, but no ordinary business had modems in 1969. BBN had only made the transport in August of 1969. In essence, net did not existed before that, except on paper. UCLA, I think was first one. I would not be surprised to learn some in the loop shops had prototypes. I know mainframes connected to the net as there was nothing but mainframes at the time. The first IBM distributed system came in the 70's as I recall. I started training for computer maint in 1965, in a Navy school after seeing them the year before at Navy base.

GP, I had you pegged in the 25-30 bracket, but that's clearly not the case... Give!

Naw, I was shooting for GPs on the '69. I suspected mid 1950's for GP. I already had a good idea on yours because of your earlier posts.

Moom, no way he's that young. He posts with some youthful exuberance, but if you read between the lines, the wisdom shows through.

                            Obviously a prodigy, our GP.

I guess in all seriousness he would to a good job on it. He's a great guide writer in general...and in this case, he's got lots of insder knowledge. I'd be surprised if the orginal plan wasn't for him to write the strat guide. (nice synergy). Of course, given the way he exitted, it's hard not to think that both he and QS may be a little bitter. Not sure if that would impact the strat guide...
