  • Will there be a Limited Edtion?

I cannot for the life of me remeber if this question was asked.

Will there be one and if so what will the contents be?

All I want is a good TECH POSTER as in Call to Power 2. Also a hint book would be cool as there was one in MOON PROJECT.

I hope there is one--not like CivIII which was lame (didn't bother buying that). Hopefully it'll have something interesting and new. I don't think they will release a strategy guide since 3rd parties have them. I'm not really sure what I want...maybe a large poster of the races (maybe an enlarged version of that race comparision chart they released)... tech tree would be good too... how about some pewter figurines?

A poster of the races would be better, the tech poster would become obsolete anyway once you start using mods.
Or a poster of the different ship types.

Just FYI, I passed this question on to Infogrames back when it was asked, and have received no answer. Since it's their call to make, I don't know what else I can say at this point.
If I'd known then what I know now, I'd never have done all the stuff that led me to what I know now...

I'm starting to be afraid of Infogrames autism (I hope i didn't mispelled it).

Don't be. I for one am glad that they're worrying about more pressing issues than whether there will be a Limited Edition release.

I would believe you if you could prove what you just said. Like you know what are they worrying about...

Obviously, they're not worrying about whether there's going to be a Limited Edition release or what would go into such a release. Since pretty much everything else about the game's release is more important than what goes into a nebulous Limited Edition, by definition they're worrying about more important matters.

If they did release an LE version who here in these forums would buy it?I mean after Civ3(and we are talking the same publishers) and the promises of this and that which plainly weren't sometimes when i think on this it makes me worry
Still i'm sure this is/has been considered as part of the general release plan - that's part of their job as publisher.
Still a nice big races poster with homeplanet data etc would be very nice

I for one would buy the LE because it's MOO3. I love the MOO series. I know what Infrogrames has done with Civ3 but remeber it was done buy Firaxis and Quicksilver. Stormhound and Alen have been great help here in the forums so I believe MOO3 will not be a disapointment.

Well, the question here is not so much if MOO3 will be great but if the LE - if, indeed, there will be an LE - is worth the money compared to the normal game. Unless it contains real goodies - nice, glossy tech chart, additional FMV, stratguide lite - most people would probably be better of skipping it.

I would still want to know what up with the Oncle Sams getting a nice phat box with a nice phat manual while us poor Europeans getting a useless DVD box with an even more useless leaflet as an excuse for a manual. If Infogrammes would deign to respond to that...

Don't get me wrong Yolky, I don't believe MOO3 will disappoint either.Maybe it's a lucky turn of fate that it was always going to fall outside of a Christmas release
And I could put up with a DVD box(It save's trees?Oh and space on my shelf),there should still be space for one poster, folded very well!!!Let America have it's BIG LE if it wants - as long as the game is as good as it can be and isn't rushed out before being ready i'll be a happy lost in MOO3 universe guy

You are right child of Thor. As long as the game can play and is enjoyable to play but I would like the Tech Tree Poster because I have used it alot and I mean alot when I have played Civ2 and Call to Power series.

I don't have much time so I probably wouldn't play any mods right away, just as the game as is and would need the tech poster.

Because of the completely different model for R&D, and because of the intentional degree of randomness we've designed into the techs, a "Tech Tree" for MOO3 would be about as useful as mammary glands on a boar hog.

Now, something which showed the relationships of the fields within the schools, and which showed which fields were dependent upon others, would be somewhat useful, but a Civ-style "Tech Tree" just isn't feasible.
