Zoetrope: the whole point ehre bud, was that I used the game's existing parameters to create a difficult enviroment for the players whow ere seeking a challenge.

Difficult environment? How about a Scenario? The zoetrope site has a bunch of challenge scenarios (some with standard races) in the Scenarios folder.
