Recently a friend of mine was telling me about his latest MoO2 game so I decided to get out mine and start playing again. I installed it and the 1.3x patch with no problem. When I got to the main menu, it was so dark I could barely make out the "new game" button. In the hope it would get better I when the all the starting stuff, but no good, the game is to dark to play. I've adjusted the gamma and brightness on my monitor and video drivers (worked for CSI) but still no go. I'm running it on WinXP with the latest nVidia drivers. (upgraded hoping that would work) I also changed it so that it would run in Win95 Compatiblility mode. I seem to remember that the last time I played (back with Win98 as the latest and greatest) it was also darker than I'd like, but usable. Is there anything else I could try?

I remember having a dark screen, but I can't find anything I done to get it to work. It must have been a video issue, I am using 9800 PRO.
I do not have Moo2 in compat mode either. I did have some mouse issues, that were fixed by using MoSlo. I am on XP PRO.

MoSlo is a big help with many old games, I've used it with the original X-Com. I've had issues with sound using that but I don't recall any with video (I've got an old GeForce2 Ultra)."And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is not a vice." -- Barry Goldwater, 1964 GOP Nomination acceptance speech (not George W. Bush 40 years later...)
