  • Jammed bomb tubes?

Sometimes, my bombing ships can't fire their bombs, even when they're right up next to the planet in question. Does anyone know why this is?

I don't use bombs in Moo2, only in Moo1. I would guess it is because they cannot do any damaged against the planets defense.

Look at the planetary shields and your bombs and see if they do enough to get past them.

IOW what are the bomb types and planetary defenses?

the v's represent ships, this is the position they need to be in to successfully bomb.

I am wondering if that matters, if you hit auto combat. I would think not. I suspect it is hat you can see when you attack a planet that has barrier shields and you have no bombs, and only phasors.

The ships just bounce around, until the 50 turns ends (after orbitals and ships are destroyed). This is due to bnot being able to do any damage to the planet.

A strong shield vs a weak bomb, could behave the same way, I would think.

Makes sense. I've seen bombs drop before without damaging anything. Its like they were following orders even though they knew they couldn't damage anything.

Cool, I had not heard of it, but then I never use bombs in Moo2. It is not listed in Mooniacs guide, wonder how many others are around.

No, no, no Vince. You didn't understand.

There is a bug whereby you can't drop your bombs (aka FIRE) on the planet. That's when you are BELOW the planet (even though u r adjacent to it)

To drop the bombs and for them not to do any damage -> that is just part of the game as it depends what kind of bombs you are using, what targeting system you have and what kind of shields the planet has.

Okay, I understand what you are saying. I've never run into that particular bug. Must be something I'm doing.
