erm, 3 battleships, we have one at Cryslon, 1 at kenyan, and 1 5 turns away from Kenyan, 2 will have to be refitted.
Ok proposal time people, raise taxes to 50%, rush the starbase at kenyan, rush the refits. whats everyone think? We can launch for Orion in 5 turns. If we do that I'll take Orion on Monday.
Vxma1, don't worry about the others, their ships are made of paper right now, they lack critical components, the gaurdian will rock them.

Sorry, I was not thinkng of the others, just that you can get from 1 to 3 free techs from the fact that Orion is an Artifact planet.
These techs are predetermined at the start. So if you get to Orion after you have learned them, then you do not get the benefit.
Not big deal to creatives, but still something to consider.

Three more planets for your consideration. Forgive me, if I mentioned any already.
Dannu is on trade goods with no structure? An RL and AF would not hurt and it does not have an AMC. This is a rich gaia planet, worth building up a bit.
Quil doing a holo, then PP, robo, AR, RL, comp. I am not too sure about the value of a holo on a size 2 planet. Later it will make sense. It has a farmer so hydro may be useful. No pollution, so PP and AR are not needed and Houri is on her way there.
Not to mention it has Pirates.
Vela is housing and is already size 3. To me that makes it worth having an AF and RL at least.
In fact I do not house at this point in the game as I want AF and RL at least and probably some other structures, followed by defenses (at least the warp interdictor).
I understand you feel no one can threathen you, but if a war breaks out you do not have enough shipping to defend all your holdings.

One reason I do not like to que up build on a planet is it removes any opportunity to reevaluate the situation.
I want to stick only one build in so when it is done, I can determine what then makes sense to built.
In the late builds for a planet, I will que up the last items, but not at the start. I also will want to see if it makes sense to shuffle pop to another area at that point. I could have gained another pop and want it to do industry, instead of food for example.
It is not much different than CivIII, the govenor is not awful, but will cost you over time, if allowed to handle things. That is why I manage everything in Civ, does not matter if it a Monarch game or a Sid game. I am going to do everything. At monarch, I win regardless, at Sid I only win if I do it that way.

Sorry tobe doing so many little post, but then it lets you have lot of responses. It is just that I drop them as I see them.
I just want to suggest that you really need to get a stabilizer on those battleships. It is 50% to beam defense and halves turn cost. This item is much more important in Moo2 than Moo1.
Any battles against beamers really needs this and eventually HEF.

There are a lot of ways to go after Orion. I do either a take down of a race with capture and hold tactics or lately I have been just doing a smash all of their planets and leave them empty.
Either way, I use a main fleet to move on to the next planet and rely on warp interdictors and planetary defensive to hold the fort.
I may have a secondary fleet to sit on a new planet and or rush to any that need help.

True, but you could have them soon and should have by the time you hit Orion.
BTW did I make it clear what I meant about the Orion tech. I was not talking about the special stuff you get from Loknar. The death ray and the three other techs that are only antaran techs.
Those three techs are not predetermined and be change during the battle, if you want.
When you defeat the guardian you get 1 to 3 normal tech, as you would from any artifact world, if you are first there.
