    I'm really sick of spies. I find about half the time I spend in the game is always making sure I have a bunch of spies to sit there on defence, otherwise it's non-stop "someone is causing unrest" "someone blew up an automated factory" every single damn turn.

    What I'm wanting to do, is make it so spies have much lower chances of getting into your country, or just arn't as good. I've looked at the spy spread sheets but they are quite complex and I'm not sure what to change.

    Anyone know what I need to change to pretty much neuter the spy system?

      There is a thing called "Oppresometer" - if you pump it up almost no spies will be able to go in your empire. The other side of the coin is that your population will become more unhappy about this, and you probably will have to lower the taxes or find another way to calm them. Different governments have different Oppresometer tolerance.
      Against stupidity the very gods themselves contend in vain.
