    I'm willing to go with impossible as well, but I'd like a huge map (which will make it easier for us I think) -- which sort of makes this more of a compromise. The other alternative might be hard level on a tiny map with 8 other ai -- the most challenging Hard situation for me.

        Impossible isn't so hard. I am not playing so regular anymore, but I used to beat the AI (8 players/huge) 6 out of 10. And 2-3 out of those were just because of bad location, sitting in a corner and nothing to reach..........

          Win or Lose, does not matter to me, I just want to see how this Demo stuff will function. Besides we can blame the others if things go bad, right.

            Why worry about changing the vote? Most everyone that wants to play is pretty active in the DG threads. As long as we kind of reach a consensus then it shouldn't matter. If it's a tie, I defect.

                Is there anyone who voted for hard and still has not enough courage to try impossible? If we choose our race well then even a nonexperienced player will be able to beat impossible without much effort ....

                    I wouldn't worry about changing the offical poll per se. We can do the impossible. What we may want to do is have a poll for map size noting that impossible is considered by many to be easiest on the huge size map.

                    I noticed that there's been no discussion on tactical comba. random events nor antaran activity. I think that tactical combat is the way to go, antarans are easy to overcome & should be included but I find that the ranodm events are more irritating than worthwhile. Another poll?

                      As I haven't voted yet in the other poll, I might choose to put 10 points for Anti's and 10 for no random events.

                      But I 'planned' to have run off polls for the different areas. Like size/players/age/picks.

                        Tactical - really there is no other way to play IMO.
                        yes you could do a challenge with no tactical, but it is
                        so boring to not be able to design and refit ship, I just
                        can't hack it. What is there for me to do, if I can't
                        design my ships? Can't refit them, isn't that what the
                        other moo games have?

                        Anties - does not matter to me, but since I do not
                        capture them for tech, they are boring as well.

                        Random - same as anties, after umpteen games, they mostly are just a nusiance.
