  • Something really screwy

I'm getting really annoyed with this bug.

You see, I downloaded the patch 1.25 for MOO3, and everything seems to be going pretty well.

But, by turn 60 and up, I start to get a really screwy bug with money and finances. Some planets suddenly get insane tax percentages and random money income or expenses.

I get like millions or billions of dollars in tax revenue, or deficits. After that, my fiances go down into a black hole toliet, going into billions of dollars in the red... I mean, my AU screen on the top of the galaxy view displays a red number with a M or G, denoting million or billion respectively.

I go to the finance screen, to find where the screwy thing comes from.

I found that my research, military, and planet grants costs millions or billions, when a turn or two previously, it was in the normal range of thousands.

I go back a couple of turns, then I adjust my tax rate to another percentage, say, from 1% to 4%. Then the bogus billion dollar thing doesn't happen.

BUT, it happens to another planet in a few turns, then I have to go back and readjust the tax rates over and over again and again.

Do I have to scrap the whole version 1.25 of MOO3, and revert to the original version 1.0? Or can I transfer this version 1.25 game to play in version 1.0, or do I have to start a new game in version 1.0?

This is really pissing me off, because I can't play anymore like this. Its either do the backtracking for every damn planet, or let all my buildings and infrastructure be scrapped automatically, and I'll still keep going down the money toliet.

What the hell is going on?

I've not encountered that at all. Did you do a completely clean install or did you apply 1.2.5 over a modded game?

If 1.2.5 is causing you problems on a clean install then perhaps you should try 1.2.4 instead. Its still significantly better than 1.0.

Have you tried the official forums to see if they know about this and have a prepared response?
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

Has not happen all of the time to me, but it only been like in the thousands, where two games, I got a jump from 300 in the till then it went up to 4.7k both times.
Next game it did not, and in my newest game, it has not, but sometimes, a jump will occur, and it has been mentioned but probably nothing will be done about it, if anything for about 6 months, since QS had the rug pulled out from under them, and they, if they do anything, will have to work on it spare time, and on their own.

But then, I have had games, where it is running, and that does not occur.
The most that was figured out, for now, is that is may have something to do with specials on the Planets, but, then again, I mentioned it in the bug list over there, and that is all one can do. That's all I can say about it, since it will not happen every time in different games.

Oh, if you get a jump like that, the player should be looking at the Finance Tab, anyway, and the balance can be changed there, so one stays in the black, say.
But, sometimes it helps, going negative for a while, to hekp build up your system. And in my case, maybe it was only on Easy level games.

No one knows for sure, why the jump occurs, I guess, is really what is going on.
