  • Bug with ion pulse cannons and Starbases

I have a starbase here with a heavy mount ion pulse cannon, wierdness, since they took that mod out for ion pulse cannons.

Also, Taking out the heavy mount really hit ion pulse cannons hard, I shot 71 autofire ion pulse cannons from 1 doomstar to another at a range of 4 spaces(its shields were knocked down by disrupter fire), and every single one of them missed(+125% comp, and other bonuses up to 195% hit).

I can not add much as I never use Ion cannons. Sounds like it was a wise choice on my part.

Ah, now I understand, that was because he had high shield levels and probably hard shields, forgot that shields block damage even when they are down.

Which still means that taking out heavy mount ion cannons hurt them.

Hard Shields work until generator fails and reduce damage -3. They work in a Nebula. Very effective.

i did have a hef on the ship, ion pulse cannons are classified as beam weapons, but are they really? There should have been some damage done if they are beam weapons.

as for generator failure, is that, where the device is destroyed? or the shield face is down?

also, what settings influence the presence of a nebula? it has been a while since i've seen one.

That's when the device is destroyed. A down shield will eventually regenerate given enough time.

Or an end to combat. Hence the retreat attack cheese manuver.

                      AFAIK nebs are randomly placed.

Do nebulas take up a system slot? I know black holes do, but I can't remember about nebulas.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I don't think they do, at least I think so because you can change black holes to normal stars with corion, but nebulas aren't even shown in that program.
I could count stars to see if they count towards the max, but that's for another day, sun is shining.

I would think not has I am sure I have seen systems inside of Nebs.
