Whats the difference between v5_1.2 and v5_1_1.2?
Also, being new to MegaMod, a readme or something explaining the contents would be nice.

The difference is that it fixed some bugs in task force and sitrep.

Thanks for the info page. I've been wondering about those multiple threads too (but at least you've started this one).

I guess what I was really asking about the files is which one do I need to install? Or do I need to install both (and if so then in what order)?

Please tell me what this patch does and can you play saved games?

I cant believe Infogrames would release a patch which wasnt compatible with previous patches and saved games! I never heard of that before!

I think you're confused. These are patches for the MegaMod, not for the game. Basically the patches listed above are just to update the mod. They will only work during new games, like any gameplay mod.

You're confusing me. I have never installed MegaMod before. What do I need to do to have an operational copy of the most current version on my PC?
Also, can I install just a few of the mods? Some of the ones listed seem superfluous or just unnecessary for game play. One of the mods I like is the taskforce size change mod.

You're right I'm confusing you, not to mention myself now. Hehe. Sorry.

At this point in time you can not install only certain aspects. All or nothing.

and you can download pretty much any of the component mods in the MegaMod. While apolyton has a lot of good stuff, it is by no means the primary or even secondary place to look for mods. At best it's tertiary. (MOO3 dev plan joke)


The only one of these you need to download is the full version one. The patch is for previous versions, it's only to update them to that version.

EDIT:

At the two sites listed above there are actually newer versions of this mod up. The MegaMod series has gotten good reviews over the past few months and I try to keep it updated as regularly as possible, I'm sorry if these posts were uninformitive, I've been working on the mod, the mod's site, 2 new installers for the mod and real life. So time was really short when I posted.

Last time I installed a task force size mod, the Task Force sizes were increased (good) but the various component requirements (mission ships, escorts, pickets) were lost (very bad).

Is this the case with your mod? A little more detail regarding the changes being made would be appreciated.

There was an initial bug with the task force size mod. It has been resolved now in the MegaMod. The sizes are bigger and the ship requirements are working. I'm sorry about the lack of information on this page and on the info page. There's a lot of info that I still need to put up on all of the pages. I'm trying, honest.

I think the requirements are necessary to the game though. That was part of a bug in the mod. It was set at no requirements, i.e. =0, and wierd stuff happened. I can't explain any better than wierd though.

Thanks JeBuS27!!! Please don't get me wrong - I just wanted to offer some constructive criticism. I appreciate the effort you are putting into this.

I'll be downloading the mod tonight - I'm getting my back-end handed to me in my current game, so it's a good excuse to start a new one.
