i've just started reading other forums besides this one, and i never realized before how many quality games microprose made back in the day: civ1/2, MoM, Moo1/2. i knew these games were the best of the period, but i never figured they would have this kind of following this many years later.

i also never realized i wasn't the only one still playing moo2 every day.

too bad win98's dos mode is so crappy, otherwise i'd be playing moo1 and MoM as well. (i never liked civ as much. too many bad memories. remind me to tell you all about my experience with CivNet, the aborted baby version of civII.)

    I play Moo1 on Win98 without sound.
I play Moo1 and Mom with sound on XP.
Moo1 at least once a week, as a small map can be done so quickly.
I use to play CivII on Win98, but I only play CivIII now.

Have you tried finding BootALL? It's an app that creates DOS boot disks with expanded memory so you can still play those kinds of games. It worked really well for me for awhile then mysteriously stopped but it may work for you. PM me if you can't find it and I'll email it to you.

Over the years, Civ2 has gotten by far the most playing time (thanks to many scenarios), but this year it has been all Moo2. Thanks to Poly and these threads I have finally learned how to win consistantly on impossible.
