Quick summary for how I'm reading it:
Yes the ai is more aggressive (is it enough....wait and see I guess)
The diplomacy sounds like it is still confusing.
It sounds like he is enjoying his game as the trilarians at least

looks positive, though apparently there are concerns that the ai won't kill you yet.

It will be tough to get used to the more agressive AI. I got quite used to never change overall empire startegy from "peace&love (prosperity)
