  • Features of GalCiv you love!!

    Dear GalCiv'ers,

Yet another discussion topic for you all.

What are some of the features that you are absolutely ga ga over with GalCiv? Compared to other TBS games in the past GalCiv is what a good TBS games should be IMHO. So here are some of the features I like about GalCiv:

    1. The ai opponents don't gang bang the human player civ3 style.

    2. Some of the ai opponents actually will become friendly with the human player and warn him of the rise of evil powerfull empires to be reckoned with.

    3. Diplomacy - while it is admittedly hard to get an ai player to ally with you (at least for me anyways) the diplo system in GalCiv is slick and to the point.

    4. GalCiv much more funnier and funner to play then super sub crappy Moo3.

    5. Starbases - in your hands a usefull tool/in ai hands a very strong annoyance!

    6. Addictive game with pretty good replayability.

That's all I can think of for now but chip in with your feelings about GalCiv today! Post now and we'll throw in a free set of Ginsu knives!

Until now the ai seems challenging enough without cheating.
Strategies vary greatly based on map size.
    Starbases are fun (though overpowered).
Ship stats depend on your techs, race picks and anomalies explored, so dreadnoughts of various civs are never the same.
Random events are interesting (though I'd like a slider none-uncommon-commn).

I like the frantic feeling I get when I play it. I like the feeling that every decision I make directly impacts my civilization. I like that the AI remembers gestures both friendly and unfriendly and acts accordingly.

I like the fact that I can start playing and realize six hours passed without my knowing.
        John Brown did nothing wrong.
