  • colony ships: how many people?

    Hi, two questions:

when you launch colony ships, how many people do you board...well... on board?
At the beginning of the game, and then later?
    Personally, I put around 400

Ok, is it possible to have the people in a colony ship come back on an inhabited planet?

Very early on, I simply divide my population in half. But I dont have a minimum value, as long as its over 20. I've settled planets with 47 million before.

You have to be careful using larger values on lower quality worlds- this can result in very low morale right off the bat- for example, 1000 on a quality 15 world can be a real pain to get motivated.

this is very interesting. Can you please detail?

So in a "nice" planet you should keep a low number of people (like100) whereas as in a low quiality plnet, you should put more?

At the beginning of game in the so-called colony-race
I mostly just ship out 10 mil per colony ship for not-so-cool planets 17- lower
My reasoning is home planet at the beginning stages is basically ur only ship producer why lower the production capacity of the planet?!
Middle stages of the when colony-race has been replaced by constructor race i try to increase colony ship load as a way to increase morale in home system.
        Hope these helps.
