    dont waste your time mate, there is not realy an update, it was caused when US daylight saving kicked in, and apparently messed up the versions.

    The bonuspack however WAS updated..with some cool new events and planet events

          Ah, so you are saying there really is no new stuff, just the DLS makes it appear that way, cool. Even with DSL, it is not a quick DL.

                041 fixed some problems with the changes in 040 - for some reasons, some files which were supposed to be included in the 040 update didn't get into it correctly. (Like the missing string in the Diplo screen.)

                042 fixes a problem with building excaliburs, again due to a missing file.

                      The lastest patch just copies the Excalibur.MDL file to people GFX directory to fix the problem with them not building. He stated it in the forums..somewhere..lol

                        1.02049 April 15, 2003

                        -turns autolaunch off after invasion/defect/trade star

                        -fixed bug where game always opened planet data screen with sol, even if it had been invaded/traded

                        -fixed slider cras on trade screen introduced in 1.02.40.

                        -fixed a bug where fleets had flaky hit detection if they were moving off screen

                        -ships on auto attack get dest cancelled after peace treaty now

                        -sector sweep, etc, cancelled when you trade a ship

                        -minimap refreshes when ship moves even when zoomed now

                        - AI improved in trading

                        - AI Starbase tactics improved

                        - AI battle tactics improved

                        - AI at "Intelligent" level or higher harder

                        - AI at "sub-normal" or lower is now easier

                        - Fundamentally better AI overall (not harder, but more intelligent).

                          More info from Brad on the forum about the 1.02049 update:

                          Duplicate wonders are also fixed, just forgot to list it.

                          There were some cheese tactics that were problematic that we took care of. Such as having planets that you give away with starbases around to make them defect and so on.
                          And more specifics from Brad about that patch:

                          Morale is a bit tougher in 1.02.49 than it was in 1.02.40 but still easier than it was in 1.0 but not much.

                          The tactical enhancements to the AI are in this build. These are mostly minor tweaks other than the starbase stuff which is significantly enhanced.

                          On genius or intelligent or higher, the AI will build up serious star bases in their home sectors to boost production and such.

                            I have a game still unfinished in version 1.1 im thinking of downloading version 1.2...

                            1. Can i still finish my 1.1 game to its conclusion?
                            2. Will the improvements be apparent at the 1.1 game?
                            3. If/When I finished my 1.1 game will it show 1.2 at the metaverse?

                                The answer is Yes for all three questions. The game lists whatever version you are currently running when placing scores on the Metaverse.
