Ok, I am lost. I seen the post on patch 3 and now 4, but SDC does not show anything new? It shows 1.01a and no update.

It might be that you have to set SDC to "Show pre-release (alpha/beta) versions", under the Tool->Settings menu, to see all the minor updates.

      If that doesn't help, I don't know.

HFS! I missed two patches between games!

Darn Stardock for not catering to the whims of professional teachers with two children below three by releasing patches so quickly!

I have a retail version with the bonus pak and the next patch. Are you saying the patches mentioned are for beta versions?

This is a similar patch strategy to what we use where I work. We find our customers are happier with and much more appreciative of smaller patches with a faster turnaround time.

The scope of changes for any particular release is much smaller, reducing test time. Occasionally an a new problem is created by a patch, but the methodology means that this will get fixed quickly.

Every once in a while, you then bundle the patches together and create a new baseline for your less-demanding customers to upgrade to.

It's not really an indication of software quality as much as simply being a methodology geared to be more responsive to customers.

Everytime I try to update on Stardock (I got Gal Civ at EB down the street), the update is 84MB. 84MB? Can't the update be any smaller?

Do not, do not, use the downloadable patch to install the bonus pack! Stardock will not work properly if you use the downloadable patch. Stardock will try to update the entire game - all 84MB of it.

I had to uninstall the entire game - and add the bonus pack through Stardock.

                      You have been warned. Bwahahahahaha!

We used that strat as well, but it was a reflection of the lack of QA.
