  • Diplomacy: Won't someone think of the children?

In Galactic Civilizations, diplomacy comes up a LOT. When talking to AI players, you don't decide things like tones or attitudes. It is assumed, as leader of your civilization, that your advisors will, to the best of their ability, tell you how to behave.

Diplomacy is one of your civilization's 30 or so odd abilities. The better you are at diplomacy versus computer player you're talking to, the better you are at getting good deals out of the AI. But we also reflect this in the way you and they speak in the negotiations.

So in this example, you're trying to get peace but because your diplomacy ability is so much lower than their's the results are well, amusing.

Hmmm, Brad. Unless you reached this screen when in a test situation, it looks like you are getting your ass kicked

A future version of GalCiv will have a Phunk-like civilization in it with a similar attitude.

I think some people will find GalCiv to be more similar in feel to SC2 than games like Civ or MOO. While the game mechanics are 4X, the general feel of GalCiv I think is quite SC2.

SC2 is my favorite PC game of all time.
