From what i understand there is no NDA for the betatesters.
Stardock has been very open about the GalCiv development, definitely becoming one of my favorite developers.
<Kassiopeia> you don't keep the virgins in your lair at a sodomising distance from your beasts or male prisoners. If you devirginised them yourself, though, that's another story. If they devirginised each other, then, I hope you had that webcam running. Play Bumps! No, wait, play Slings!
Can't find any mention of a NDA in the license file I found in my drengin directory, and, as stated, the beta is very open.
Edan, is it any good?
I'm enjoying it. Good gameplay, IMO, and runs fine (though it does need some tweaking). The AI is more than competent (read: I've only managed to win one game out of about 6 or 7 ). I'm sure the previews linked to will provide you enough information, unless you have a specific question.

OK I found it. It really doesn't give much info , though. Less than what can be seen on the official site, no gameplay opinions...

Well, i got the beta about a week ago, and i have to say "GO OUT AND GET IT!"
Best bit of strategy gaming ive had since MOO2 without a doubt. Its nice to see a lot of the concepts they had in Civ3 actually work in this one - The diplomacy for starters is way better, as is trade.
Compared to the stuff ive seen on MOO3 so far, im quite happy sticking with GALCIV. Must say though, if anything, its likely to appeal most to CIV players than necessarily MOO players (although most are probably both come to think of it) due to just how the game plays. All in all i'd give it a good 9/10 and i might add that ive found the Beta very stable too (one or two crashes out of a heck of a lot of gaming hours so far) so im expecting it to be a really solidly built game as well by the time it hits the shops.
It would have been nice to see a multiplayer option, but then considering ive been playing my current game for about 12 hours solid (and thats only a large galaxy) then i can kinda see why it was perhaps thought of as not being perhaps suitable for the game.
Id forget the hype surrounding MOO and check this out, I would say you will be pleasantly surprised!
