After putting GCII DL aside since last April I picked it up again. I got an e-mail announcing the upcoming expansion and that was enough to get the interest up again. Then I skimmed some of the AARs I did in January to April of last year and remembered how much fun GC2 was. Long story short, I ended up wasting (er...investing!) all Sunday on 3 short games with the Krynn. I was pleased that the basic strategies came back, even if I was caught flat footed a few times.
A few questions for those who have stuck around for the several generations of patches after last April and continuous improvement Stardock is famous for:
• Has Stardock un-nerfed diplomacy and tech trading? Tech trading and AI Group Research was a decidedly un-fun part of the game for me and I simply turned it off. This made diplomacy and the Terrans particularly disadvantaged and similarly un-fun.
• Any other changes since back in April?
I did really like what I read about the last expansion. As usual Stardock is going all out, and the expansion will likely recraft the game – yet again. If I can find some more time I’ll see if I can get some more AARs done as I explore the game.
