Is anyone else bothered by the silly time scale? I mean five years from hyper drive to galactic domination on a huge map. And the victory screen states that we have achieved dominance after centuries of activity. 
The back story would have us believe that some of the civs have existed as advanced space faring races for millennia. And that they needed 50 years to build their first colony ship.
Couldn’t have the creators of the game used the same trick as Civilization?
