  • Help... and darker help

Someone made a comment about the limits to helping allies. It might sound silly, but I think we are even more limited in "helping" enemies Am I alone to wish to help them making the "proper" decisions?

    The real world:
Alliances are about help. Occupation also leads to more formally colonial forms of helping. And on the longer term, helping friends can end up in more dependent/corrupt friends (Africa anyone?). Imagine post-war Japan, Rome unwillingly "forced" to invade turbulent neighbors and forming empire, good reputation from aid...

    The game:
Right now, a territory is either entirely yours or entirely else's. No direct(ed) help to allies or mingling with others is permitted. My GalCiv allies would appreciate, and enemies would bring less if unrest if I help than if I blatantly took control.

I'd like to send advisors or co-rulers, "influence" 50% of the sliders, send "support troops/police", sign a treaty by controlling both sides, send (United Planets?) inspectors to force some choices... and get my underground cut by some mingling

Only this would permit colonies, field help to allies, international aid... I'd just like to be nice and actively/strategically help my neighbors
