Ship Question?Research Path

Hi

even on cakewalk my ships suck.... i'm always getting stomped weather i design my own or not.....Does anyone know the best path to follow to get better ships and armor.....it's always my defender types against heavey fighters.

Find out what type of weapons your worst enimies are using then research that type of armour and equip your ships with that. The computer likes to use the same type of weapon and armour usually so use A different weapon then them i.e. If they use Misslies use chaff and ecm armour and if they have chaff armour and no shields or titanium armour use railguns or lasers.

The hands down best techs are the ones that only good/evil can use. I like to build up my planets to decent efficiency, then research Xeno Ethics, pick my alignment then beeline for the first alignment specific weapon/shield. With that Iyou can usually conquer the world.
