Limited Edition

I pre-ordered GalCiv II from Amazon.co.uk and got the Limited Edition, which as far as I know is the same as the Collector's Edition, but with a slightly different name. I only received one serial number (a known problem) so I tapped it into GalCiv2.com to get my other serial number so I could download the latest patch (1.0X.1).

I tried to download the CE content by putting in both serial numbers. It installs fine and says it has altered the registry to include it, but it isn't there. Apparently 14 additional items with the description "CE content" are meant to be under Extras/Generic in the ship builder, but they are not.

Anyone know how I can enable these extra ship parts?

I know you've likely checked this, but it stuck those things underneath the Rotate Hardpoint/Lights/etc.

Yeah I've checked where they're supposed to be but they aren't there. Apparently they're supposed to have the description "CE content enabled" or something. I tried to install the CE content once before the patch and again after installing the patch but it still isn't there. I'm not quite sure why it isn't working.

Install the Collectors Edition bonus pack executable after you install the latest patch. That's what I did.

Just saw a thread talking about this in the GalCiv forums, so I thought I'd check it out for you. I hope it helps.

Thanks, I did think that was the problem, but I've installed it after installing the patch as well and it still doesn't work. Under the generic tab I have 10 items, just enough to fill the space with no scroll bar. I have the rotate hardpoint and lights stuff but no extra stuff.
